  2. Public Archaeology Program

    May 9, 10:00 AM - July 1, 4:00 PM @ Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum

    Fieldwork- Includes excavating test units, screening soils for artifacts, and mapping remains associated with an 18th-century plantation on the Park grounds Laboratory Work- Includes cleaning and labeling artifacts, and preparing them for archival storage. Laboratory work takes place in the Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory at JPPM.   3. Gallery Art Show: "Bay Blues"

    Come enjoy the Blues at Artworks@7th! The month of June features "Bay Blues,” a collaborative exhibit by a diverse group of artists, Darlene Basile, Nancy Bateman, and Brett Hay. Opening June 1 and running through June 25, 2017, Bay Blues will present a variety of media with each sensational piece evocative of the spirit of the Chesapeake Bay. ??Darlene Basile uses acrylic, watercolor, and myriad other techniques to bring landscapes and portraits to life. Nancy Bateman designs realistic and fanciful landscapes out of wool and other natural fibers, using the technique of needlefelting to create works that are saturated with color and texture. Brett Hay is a glass artist and photographer. Using specific methods and materials, such as murrine glass and strip-cutting, Brett creates incredible works of fused glass with rich colors and intricate patterns. Bay Blues opens with a preview night on Friday, June 2, from 5-8 pm, and an opening reception on Saturday, June 3 from 2-5 pm.

  4. 3rd Annual Mud Day

    Celebrate International Mud Day with an afternoon of family-friendly muddy mayhem. Explore our squishy art projects, play in the mud kitchen, create a terrarium, paint with mud - and cavort in our giant mud pit! Snack vendors will be on site. Bring a picnic and lawn chairs. Rinse-off stations will be available, but bring extra clothes and prepare for a muddy car ride home! This is a rain or shine event. Please no pets.
