  2. Lighthouse Adventure Cruise

  3. Chesapeake Biological Lab Open House

    September 8, 2018, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Chesapeake Biological Laboratory

    The Chesapeake Biological Laboratory (CBL), a national leader in fisheries, estuarine ecology, environmental chemistry and toxicology. invites the public to the Solomons Island campus for an Open House. Last year’s Open House was attended by more than 500 and included exhibits and hands-on activities like piloting an underwater robot, experiments about toxicology, tours of the research vessel, the Rachel Carson, and a Scientist Selfie Station. Children attending the Open House receive a passport and move through the different labs and experiments to have the passport stamped for prizes. CBL is part of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science and is the oldest publicly supported marine laboratory on the East Coast.

  4. Taste the Beaches

    September 8, 2018, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Kellam's Field

    "Taste the Beaches" is a fun, free, community block party that showcases local restaurants, businesses, artisans and artists. We'll be raffling various items such as jewelry, show tickets, gift certificates, locally-made goodies and much more. All raffle proceeds will benefit Project ECHO Homeless Shelter. Food & beverages available from several local restaurants, caterers and food trucks. Costs are determined by individual food vendors. No Tickets. Music entertainment provided by event emcee, John Luskey and other local musicians. Special performance from Kenneth Holmes. Free Kids Zone will feature special guests such as: The Chesapeake Mermaid, The FishMobile by Phillips Wharf Environmental Center, Raptors Eye and Fluffy the Cotton Candy Unicorn!
