  1. RISE UP! A Teen Art Exhibit

    February 15, 2019 - April 14, 2019 @ Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center

    RISE UP! is a teen exhibition program that will showcase the talent, creativity, and perspective of today’s teens. Whether through visual artwork, digital, video, creative writing, spoken word, music, or other performing arts, the exhibit will include works that communicate what it means to be a teen in the world today. RISE UP! will include an online gallery, a juried gallery exhibit, and performance opportunities. These teens are going to RISE UP! and let their voices be heard!

    calvART is a cooperative gallery located in Prince Frederick, MD, and affiliated with the Arts Council of Calvert County. calvART is a showcase for artists from Southern Maryland and highlights work from a wide range of styles and media. Our artists excel in paintings, pottery, jewerly, sculpture, woodturning and photography. calvART highlights artwork by the Southern Maryland community and partners with community groups and organizations for its shows. The Maker's Market is THE place to find handmade, homemade, or homegrown products....crafts, hanging baskets, organic skincare products, farm fresh produce, cut flowers, baked goods, batik and fleece clothing, handmade soaps and candles, herbal teas, ornaments, folk art, handmade gifts, and more!     Ever wonder how Native Americans made stone tools? Ever want to learn how to do it? During this workshop you will learn the techniques to turn stone into tools. The workshop will include how to select materials, the science behind knapping, and the chance to create your own stone arrowheads. This workshop is perfect for ages 13 and up.
