  1. FOLKSY Cultural Traditions and Outside Visions

    Date: Apr 26 2019 - Sep 22 2019 Gallery: Kay Daugherty Gallery Join us as we explore the wide realm of folk art, outsider art, and visionary art - and other artistic expressions that are often situated outside the world of mainstream fine arts. This exhibit will highlight the unconventional, the authentic, and the self-taught artists. What materials and perspectives are artists exploring? How are artists blurring the lines between fine and folk, maintstream and outsider? What cultural traditions, personal histories, or social commentaries inspire their work? What identities and issues are finding a voice? How does this work challenge our ideas and address the human condition? These and other ideas and expressions will find a home in this exciting new exhibit.

  2. Art Show: Trash To Treasure at CalvART Gallery

    CalvART is a cooperative gallery located in Prince Frederick, MD, and affiliated with the Arts Council of Calvert County. calvART is a showcase for artists from Southern Maryland and highlights work from a wide range of styles and media. Our artists excel in paintings, pottery, jewerly, sculpture, woodturning and photography. calvART highlights artwork by the Southern Maryland community and partners with community groups and organizations for its shows. You are always welcome to browse, and spend a part of the day looking at our artwork and meeting the artists. Consider joining us at our monthly receptions and special events. Reception: July 13th 5-8:00 pm.

  3. River Life Camp

    Rising 2nd and 3rd graders Come discover what makes the Patuxent River so special to JPPM and Calvert County by exploring it from its waters to the forests and meadows that surround it. We will learn not only about natural features but also how the environment has shaped the history of the people calling the land home for thousands of years. Prepare to get messy and explore the Patuxent Shoreline.

  4. Brett Eldredge featuring Cassadee Pope

    July 26, 2019, 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM @ Calvert Marine Museum

    Southern Maryland country fans get their second show of the season with Brett Eldredge on Friday, July 26 at the PNC Waterside Pavilion! This singer/songwriter dropped his first two albums into the top two positions of Billboard’s country chart with Bring You Back and Illinois, and did the same with an incredible six singles in a row, all hitting #1. More recently, fan-favorite Love Someone gives true meaning to the term “man’s best friend”. Eldredge’s throaty baritone shines with casual confidence, and progressive country mixes freely with classic pop and soul. Opening for Eldredge is up and coming country star, Cassadee Pope. This young singer, songwriter, and musician became the first female winner of hit show The Voice in 2012.

  5. Friday Night Farmers' Market, Classic Car Cruise-In & Art Fair

    July 26, 2019, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ The Town of North Beach

    This weekly market offers seasonal delights from local farms including, fresh, flavorful fruits and vegetables, fresh herbs, cheese, meat, seafood, fresh-baked goods, cut flowers, and bedding plants. You can sample the wines from our very own Calvert County wineries and purchase by the glass or bottle. Classic car enthusiasts can enjoy viewing some of the coolest vehicles in the area at the Classic Car Cruise-In. The Friday Night Art Fair also will be taking place on Bay Avenue ( between 5th and 7th street) and is open to all artists who locally design, make and sell art. The vision of the NB Art Fair is the promote locally design art and produce creative and unique art. The Art Fair's program helps community-cased artist and art organizations make locally produced art available tot he community residents and visitors. Stop by and find some art work.
