    CalvART is a cooperative gallery located in Prince Frederick, MD, and affiliated with the Arts Council of Calvert County. calvART is a showcase for artists from Southern Maryland and highlights work from a wide range of styles and media. Our artists excel in paintings, pottery, jewerly, sculpture, woodturning and photography. calvART highlights artwork by the Southern Maryland community and partners with community groups and organizations for its shows. You are always welcome to browse, and spend a part of the day looking at our artwork and meeting the artists. Consider joining us at our monthly receptions and special events. Reception: September 14th 5-8 pm.

    The Shaping of America: a painter's perspective September 27 - October 26, 2019. Main Gallery Join us for an art exhibition featuring the paintings of ten women artists who see and experience the genre of landscape painting in uniquely different ways. Inspired by the written word of American geographer D.W. Meinig, the exhibition highlights how each painting embodies the idea of "landscape" as experienced through the hand of the artist and the eye of the viewer. Your idea of what "American Landscape" is will twist and turn with each layer of painted material.   4. Walk to End Alzheimer's - Southern Maryland

    Join the fight for Alzheimer's first survivor at Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Learn about Alzheimer’s disease, advocacy opportunities, clinical studies enrollment, and support programs and services from the Alzheimer’s Association and join in a meaningful tribute ceremony to honor those affected by Alzheimer's disease. Sign up as a team captain, join a team or register to walk as an individual. Participation is free. Walkers are encouraged to raise funds. The end of Alzheimer’s starts with you!

Join us as we use fresh, seasonal ingredients and traditional cooking techniques to recreate receipts (recipes) from the 18th and 19th centuries. Experience history in a whole new way!     Toy boat building, sponsored by the Patuxent Small Craft Guild, has been part of the museum for over 30 years and is offered on the fourth Saturday of every month. $2 donation per boat requested. Museum admission required. For ages 5 and up.

  8. Dee of St Mary's Public Sail

    September 28, 2019, 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM @ Calvert Marine Museum

    The museum offers 2-hour public sails aboard the historic vessel Dee of St. Mary’s. This is a great way to experience the Patuxent River aboard an iconic Chesapeake Bay Skipjack. Learn about watermen, workboats, and what they caught. Help raise and lower the sail. Sails depart from the Calvert Marine Museum. Advance reservations are required by noon the Friday prior to the sail.
