Public Archaeology Program
Tuesday, May 7, 2019
Every summer, volunteers are given the opportunity to see what it is like to be an archaeologist and excavate an actual site, through our Public Archaeology Program. You can help us dig and screen for artifacts in the field, or wash, label, and count objects at the Maryland Archaeological Conservation Lab. And if you don’t want to get dirty, you can just watch the work in progress. You can come as often as you want – an hour, a day, the entire season! It’s a fun way for the whole family to learn about the past. Who knows what great discoveries await you?!
Field work is Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Lab work is Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Public Archaeology is free, open the public and all ages are welcome, but registration is required. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. To register, please contact Ed Chaney at 410-586-8554 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
