The Edna E. Lockwood Restoration and Education Tour - CANCELED
Wednesday, October 9, 2019
One hour dockside educational tours describing shipbuilding and oyster history will be available. School trips will be scheduled from 9-2. Public tours are weekdays, from 2-6 and also available on weekends.
Restoration of the Edna was a two year project. It was sponsored by a grant from the National Park Service. Shipwrights restored the deck, sails, rigging and hull, finishing in Fall 2018. The hull is comprised of nine hand carved pine logs. The Edna is 58 feet at the water line and 85 feet overall. See the last sailing bugeye oyster boat at the Rod ‘N’ Reel marina.
Up to 1 hour tours to learn about ship restoration and early oyster harvesting. Great photo opportunity for the whole family.
