  5. Fossil Adventure Days

    At 10 a.m., participants are dropped off at Cove Point Lighthouse, where they will meet CMM educators. The program leader teaches a short lesson on local Miocene fossils and what to look for along the beach. From 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., you will explore the beach to search for fossilized shells, bones, and shark teeth. After fossil collecting, work with museum educators to identify the fossils you have found. The program ends at 12 p.m. For ages 8 - 12. Capacity is limited; pre-registration required.

The farmers' market season will be from May 7 through October 22 and will be held on Saturday mornings from 8 am to 12 pm in the parking lot of the North Beach Senior Center. The market will include local vendors with items such as plants, farm vegetables, baked goods, meats, cheeses, eggs and other fresh goods. The Town of North Beach encourages all guests to HELP REDUCE WASTE by bringing your own bag and using the appropriate disposal containers provided at the market.

    In one day, in one location, travel back in time to the family friendly simple pleasures of yesteryear. Enjoy the delights of the church fair. Browse the attic treasures, peruse captivating books, visit the children’s corner for face-painting, savor a hot dog, fresh lemonade and a snow cone, take home homemade baked goods and preserves. At noon head to the jousting field to cheer on Sir Knight and Fair Lady as they spear rings as small as 1/4 inch on running horses. Cool off in the historic Christ Church for soothing organ recitals. End your day with the church supper family style in an air-conditioned hall or BOXED and ready to go featuring homemade fare of deviled crab, fried chicken, ham, potato salad, apple sauce and more. Bazaar - 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Jousting at noon, organ concerts in the church from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, country supper in air-conditioned hall 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, boxed suppers available from noon to 6:00 PM. Visit a 19th century one-room school until 2:00 PM.
