  2. Calvert Community Resource Fair

    October 19, 2018, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM @ Saint John Vianney Family Life Center

    The Calvert Community Resource Fair is an annual event hosted by several local agencies and non-profit organizations. The mission is to share resources that may be helpful to members of our community experiencing homelessness and those at risk of homelessness. This event is free and family-friendly. There will be health screenings, fun activities for kids and giveaways such as gas and grocery cards.

  3. Halloween Extravaganza

    October 19, 2018, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Southern Community Center

    Come dressed in your scariest, cutest, funniest or most original costume for our costume judging contest. Check-in from 11-11:30 a.m. for all ages, infant to adult. Prizes will be given to the winners of each category. There will also be a craft area for pumpkin painting and decorating, however, you must bring your own pumpkin! A moon bounce and games will be available for the kids to enjoy as well. Eric Energy will perform his Halloween Spark Attack at 12:30 p.m. Pizza will be available for purchase while supplies last.

    The Maritime Performance Series presents LOW LILY! This string and vocal trio explores the roots and branches of American folk music with traditional influences and modern inspiration that weaves together a unique brand of acoustic music. Liz Simmons (vocals and guitar), Flynn Cohen (vocals, guitar, and mandolin), and Lissa Schneckenburger (vocals and fiddle) are masterful players with deep relationships to traditional music styles ranging from bluegrass, to Irish, Scottish, New England, and Old Time Appalachian sounds. Combine this with stellar composition skills and inventive arrangements, and get music that is rooted yet contemporary. Tickets are $20 online, $25 at the door.
