Join us for a magical summer in the garden! Enjoy a safe, outdoor, engaging experience during Annmarie’s Enchanted Summer at the Garden! We’ve taken all the best parts of our popular Fairy & Gnome Home Festival and transformed it into an amped-up, low-touch/no-touch, multimedia, daily, outdoor experience of frolicking fairy fun. Grab your bug spray, pack a picnic blanket or chairs, and spend your summer with us!

Come explore this charming exhibit of more than 75 handmade houses scattered throughout the trails and woods of the garden. Made by wonderfully creative artists from the community (and beyond), this exhibit features works in all media.

We will start with an online show on our website and social media accounts, and then move to a physical gallery show once the public gathering restrictions have been lifted. Please note this means the artwork delivery dates and the gallery show dates may change as we progress through this crisis. If your work is accepted, we will keep you informed of any changes. Current details are listed below. Bloom & Grow is a lush, colorful, and wide-ranging celebration of floral and botanical art. From biblical depictions of the Garden of Eden, to the plein air art of the Impressionists, to the bold stylized motifs in pop culture, depictions of flowers are plentiful throughout art history and visual culture. Bloom & Grow will feature works that continue these traditions, as well as works that push beyond to explore the symbolic, the emotional, the environmental, and the personal connections we have with flowers, plants, and all things that grow outdoors.

Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center in Solomons, Maryland, is pleased to present a powerful new exhibit exploring images and experiences of woman in art, as creators, innovators, consumers, and subject matter. She: An Expression of Womanhood will run through September 27, 2020 in the Kay Daugherty Gallery. The juried exhibit features over 80 works from local and national artists. Themes. Images, and experiences are expressed in a variety of mediums, including, painting and drawing, fiber, assemblage, and sculpture.

Explore Calvert County's amazing natural diversity by joining the naturalists on a daily hike each day highlighting one of our local county parks. Come for just one hike or hike them all. Routes are not stroller-friendly. Friendly dogs on leashes welcome. If you hike them all, you'll receive a Park Trek 2020 certificate of completion. Today's Trek will be about 1.5 miles. Advanced Reservations are required. No walk ins allowed

SHARKFEST is coming back in a whole new way for 2020! Join us virtually the week of July 6 - 10 as we celebrate sharks with crafts, Ask Me Anything sessions with our paleontologist and aquarists, and brand new footage of the sharks in our care. For Rising Kindergartners to 4th Graders. Join us digitally for a series of fun activities to keep you busy all summer long. Each week will include two virtual meet ups and an activity to do at home. The first meet up is on Monday at 10:00 am to get you started and another meet up on Thursday at 10:00 am to share what you've made and learned. We will provide a packet of materials to complete the activity (that will be picked up from the Park) and digital tutorials.

For students entering grades 1 - 2: Explore all that CMM has to offer -- from fossils, fish, and otters to the wonders of the salt marsh and more. Identify fossils found on a local beach. Make bird feeders, plant native flowers, and build a toy boat. Explore the museum like never before, during virtual tours created especially for this program! This popular camp is offered twice this summer, to allow a larger group of campers to participate in a variety of interactive, age-appropriate learning experiences with an emphasis on the natural science and maritime history of the Chesapeake Bay region.
