    CalvART is a cooperative gallery located in Prince Frederick, MD, and affiliated with the Arts Council of Calvert County. CalvART is a showcase for artists from Southern Maryland and highlights work from a wide range of styles and media. Our artists excel in paintings, pottery, jewerly, sculpture, woodturning and photography. "For The Birds" - Linocut prints of birds of all sorts, flying, foraging, flocking and floating. Also included are gourds made into fully functional birdhouses, painted and decorated to become whimsical habitats such as spaceships, creatures, and characters.

  3. On Paper: Printmaking, Book Art and Beyond at Annmarie Garden

    The Kay Daugherty Gallery at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center will feature On Paper: Printmaking, Book Arts & Beyond. Selected work will highlight the expanse of printmaking and book arts as an artistic discipline. Techniques such as relief printing, etching, lithography, paper making, book binding, letterpress, collage and papercut will be explored. All works should showcase the unique process and craftsmanship that goes into each handmande paper, print, or collage. Select media welcome; small to large-scale works; indoor and outdoor works; cash awards will be presented.

  11. River Cruises on the Wm. B. Tennison

    Enjoy a one hour cruise on the river with a relaxing sightseeing cruise. On your cruise, you will cruise the busy Solomons inner harbor, see Solomons Island and the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory, pass underneath the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge and turn back at Pt. Patience and the Naval Recreation Center. Departures are from the Calvert Marine Museum dock. All cruises are weather permitting. Tickets are available for purchase online and at the Admissions Desk. Maximum capacity is 20 persons. Accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities with reasonable notice. No strollers allowed. All passengers must wear a mask for this one hour cruise.

    Want to see some horseshoe crabs spawning on the beach by starlight? Join us for this unique chance to see Flag Ponds at night! With luck we will see horseshoe crabs spawning at the water’s edge or maybe bioluminescent comb jellies in the water! In order to keep groups small this year, we are offering staggered start times. Each session will begin with a short informative talk about horseshoe crabs and end with a walk along the beach to look for them along the beach. Please only sign up for one session. Bring a flashlight, insect repellent, and wear shoes that can get wet. You may want to have a change of clothes for the way home. Don't forget masks for everyone over the age of 2.
