  2. Native Skills Camp

    July 12, 2021, 9:00 AM - July 16, 2021, 4:00 PM @ Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum (JPPM)

    During this camp we will make shelters, build fires, and learn about different native tools such as rabbit sticks, bows, fire drills, and pottery. Campers will also learn about, and try, a variety of cooking methods including boiling water without a pot, baking without an oven, and how to make the perfect s’more.

  3. River Runners Summer Camp

    July 12, 2021, 9:00 AM - July 16, 2021, 3:00 PM @ Various Locations throughout Calvert County

    For children entering grades 6-8 in Fall 2021. Each day of this camp will bring campers up-close and personal with the Patuxent River and the creeks that flow into it. Campers will learn paddling fundamentals: safety, strokes, and rescues - as well as learning firsthand about water quality and the natural history of the river. Locations will vary by day.

  4. Preschool Nature Walk- Magnificent Moths

    July 14, 2021, 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM @ Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center

    Join us Wednesday mornings at 10:30am outside in the park for gently guided nature walks as we investigate the forests and fields at Annmarie. Led by Hester, our staff naturalist, these walks will be lightly themed, but will allow children to investigate and discover all kinds of wonders. The conversation will be guided by whatever we find together! Dress appropriately for the weather and wear shoes that can get muddy.

  5. River Cruises on the Wm. B. Tennison

    July 14, 2021, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Wm. B. Tennison

    Enjoy a one hour cruise on the river with a relaxing sightseeing cruise. On your cruise, you will cruise the busy Solomons inner harbor, see Solomons Island and the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory, pass underneath the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge and turn back at Pt. Patience and the Naval Recreation Center. Departures are from the Calvert Marine Museum dock. All cruises are weather permitting. Tickets are available for purchase online and at the Admissions Desk. Maximum capacity is 20 persons. Accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities with reasonable notice. No strollers allowed. All passengers must wear a mask for this one hour cruise.
