Kat Poff

Kathryn Poff, acting deputy director, serves as the Calvert County Government cybersecurity manager. Poff has worked in Technology Services for almost 22 years. She rose through the ranks from system administrator to network administrator and then to network supervisor. Poff has always been passionate about cybersecurity and understood the importance of having a team whose sole function was to monitor the network, recognize threats to that network and put security in place to stop recognized threats to the network. A Cybersecurity Team was formed in late 2021 under Poff’s leadership to promote cybersecurity to Calvert County residents and government employees. Poff is a Certified Information Security Systems Professional, one of the highest, internationally recognized security certifications, and is a Global Information Assurance Certification Information Security Professional. She holds a master’s certificate from the Enterprise Cybersecurity Leadership Academy through the National Association of Counties.
