2019 Comprehensive Plan Update Process, Schedule, and Documents
County Commissioner Process
April 4, 2019: The Calvert County Planning Commission submitted its recommendation to adopt the December 2018 draft of the Calvert County Comprehensive Plan.
April 30, 2019: The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) held a public hearing to consider and receive comments on the Calvert County Planning Commission’s recommended Comprehensive Plan (December 2018 draft). The BOCC voted to keep the record open until midnight on May 6. Previously submitted comments were included as part of the record for the BOCC’s consideration.
May 14, 2019: The BOCC held a work session to review the draft Comprehensive Plan (December 2018 draft) in preparation for a future public hearing.
June 4, 2019: The BOCC continued its work session to review the draft Comprehensive Plan. The Board voted to extend its state-allotted 90-day time period to take action on the Planning Commission’s recommendation by an additional 60 days. The Board had a total of 150 days to take action on the Planning Commission’s recommendation, with the deadline being September 1, 2019.
June 25, 2019: The BOCC continued its work session on the draft Comprehensive Plan. The BOCC voted to take the draft Calvert County Comprehensive Plan (July 2019 draft) to a public hearing.
July 23, 2019: The BOCC held a public hearing to consider and receive comments on the adoption of the Calvert County Comprehensive Plan. The BOCC voted to keep the record open until 11:59 p.m. on July 24, 2019.
July 30, 2019: The BOCC held a work session in response to public comments.
August 6, 2019: The BOCC voted to adopt the July 23, 2019 draft of the Calvert County Comprehensive Plan with amendments.
